Tag important files with custom labels

Sometimes it is important to know what a file looked like which was sent to a colleague or customer days or weeks ago. Many users copy files and store them with a date as part of the file name. That's why many desktops are cluttered with such files. Iternum TrackMyFiles avoids this practice by allowing to tag file versions with a custom label.

In our real life example of this feature tour, we work on a sales presentation. Now, before we send the current version of the document tracked by TrackMyFiles to the Sales Departement for review, we add a custom label to it. Later on, we can retrieve this specific version easily.

To tag a document, we simply click on it with the right mouse button and select the "TrackMyFiles->Tag current..." menu item:

The selected menu item opens a box which we can use to enter our custom label:

Now that the presentation document has a label, the context menu changes to allow to retrieve labelled versions directly. The tag comment (marked red) shows up in the revisions menu:

Tagged document versions are most important if you look for a file using the history browser. Thus, the history browser allows to filter all file versions and to show only versions which have been tagged:
